Sometimes you have to be a little adventurous just to find Amelia Island...it's not on all the maps. And our bright lights have names like the "Big Dipper". It is getting away.

And the Elizabeth Pointe Lodge is also what it must have been like...the main house is constructed in an 1890's "Nantucket shingle-style" with a strong maritime theme.

Porches surround the main floor with an abundance of rockers, sunshine and lemonade. Newspapers are delivered to the room to start each day. A complimentary breakfast is served in an oceanfront sun room.

All twenty-five guest rooms are different and it makes room hunting down the winding halls a pastime. Books, personal effects and maritime photos are everywhere. Fresh flowers, oversized tubs and homemade snacks are all part of the fun.

Sitting prominently on the Atlantic Ocean, the inn is only steps from the barrier island sand dunes. Long stretches of often deserted beaches await the guest.

Sailing, fishing charters, tennis, golf, and horseback riding are nearby. Touring bikes, beach equipment and airport pickup are always available. Special tours, outings, and charters can be arranged to suit your adventure. The historic seaport of Fernandina is only a short bike ride away for dining and shopping...or just work on your tan.
